Philadelphia preacher Joshua Clay faces a test to his strength and faith when he accepts a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity in the 1930s to be the first African-American minister in years sent to do missionary work in South Africa, and arrives only to find himself restricted at every turn and witness to ruthless apartheid policies.
