Left for dead

my journey home from Everest

In 1996 Beck Weathers and a climbing team attempted to reach the summit of Mount Everest. Then a storm hit, ripped the team to shreds, and everyone fought for their lives. Nine climbers died. When surviving team members found Weathers they saw he was also dying and left him on the mountain. Twelve hours later the inexplicable happened and he appeared at camp, blinded, gloveless, caked with ice, a "dead man walking".
