Mischa Berlinski moves to northern Thailand with his girlfriend and stumbles upon the story of his career when he learns of an American anthropologist who has been found dead in a Thai prison where she was serving a life sentence for murder, and as he is drawn into the young woman's life, Mischa finds himself uncovering deadly family secrets and a new way of looking at the world.
