The time of our singing

On Easter Day, 1939, David Strom, a German Jewish emigre scientist, meets Delia Daley, a young Philadelphia negro studying to be a concert singer, and their mutual love of music draws them together and against everyone's advice, they marry, not realizing the violence and prejudice they and their children will be forced to endure.
