The pardoner's tale

Depicts the Pardoner, who was sent by the Pope to sell indulgences for the forgiveness of sins to his fellow travelers who were unaware when they agreed to a storytelling competition on their journey to Canterbury that they would be subjected to the Pardoner's crooked moneymaking ways. The format of this book presents the Middle English version on one page with Modern English on the facing page. Includes a brief biography of the poet, footnotes, and discussion questions.
