Thumb on a diamond

Thumb and his best friend Susan, a little bored with life in their tiny New Auckland village, decide to form a baseball team and win the regional title, all with the goal of earning a trip to Vancouver paid for by the school board, but they must first overcome a few challenges--including the fact that none of them has ever played baseball, and the town is not wide enough for a baseball diamond.
