Chicago wizard Harry Dresden is enjoying booming business, but he begins to wish things would slow down just a bit when he becomes involved in a duel with a vampire, finds himself the target of professional hit men, and is sought by police to identify a corpse--all the while dealing with the return of his semi-vampiric ex-girlfriend.
