To spoil the sun

A smallpox epidemic plagues the sixteenth-century people of Seven Clans and threatens the life of those in Mulberry Town, including a young Cherokee girl named Rain Dove, whose hopes for a husband and family are interrupted by the arrival of strangers to their community.
