Watercolor

materials and basic techniques

Students explore the materials and properties of watercolor through a series of demonstrations and examples of watercolor paintings. These include transparent and opaque watercolor, pigments, brushes, papers, washes, glazes, and wet-in-wet techniques. The demonstrations use student watercolors and papers amd provide examples for classroom painting activities. A video Watercolor: Special Techniques is also available and complements this program.
