A voyage through the Northwest Passage is a trek filled with constant danger from ice, polar bears, and severe weather. Many people have traversed the Passage and a staggering number have died trying. Theobald, an expert sailor, uses his Northwest Passage experience as an excuse to reunite with his children and stepchildren after a bad divorce. The family, along with others, embarks with unanswered questions, untold hurts, and unspoken mistrusts. But unrelenting cold, hungry polar bears, and a haunting landscape littered with the debris of failed expeditions, forces everyone to set aside hurts and differences if they want to survive.
