Landon Lucas Maxfield suffers the violent death of his mother at age thirteen and becomes a tattooed, pierced bad boy who's emotional broken. When he goes to college, he becomes Lucas and tries to be the man his mother always wanted him to be. There he meets Jacqueline and falls in love.
