In Manhattan in 2006, twenty-six-year-old Evelyn Beegan gets a job at a social network for the city's elite and sets out to recruit new members. Evelyn passes herself off as one of the chosen few with old money until her father, a class-action lawyer, is indicted for bribery. Evelyn struggles to deal with her family's scandal while keeping up appearances at work, but she will only be able to lead a double life for so long.
