My story, my dance

Describes how young African American Robert Battle had to wear leg braces, yet came to direct the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater that strives to preserve African American dance culture. Presents Battle's long journey from his early life up through his teenage years when he discovered his passion for movement first in martial arts and then in ballet, and on through many years of hard work dancing for the very company he would come to direct.
