Lost voices

Fourteen-year-old Luce's difficult life ends when she falls into the icy sea after being assaulted and left to die on the cliffs outside an Alaskan fishing village, but she awakens to a new existence when she is welcomed into a tribe of mermaids and is reveling in life under the sea until she learns she is expected to use her beautiful singing voice to lure sailors to their deaths.
