Beauty and the Beast

A simplified retelling of Disney's "Beauty and the Beast" for beginning readers. Book-loving Belle must rescue her father from a grim castle where he is being held by a beast, as well as fight off the advances of the boorish Gaston. She takes her father's place as captive in the enchanted castle, where, with the help of his enchanted servants, she comes to see a softer side of the beast.
