Presents an account of the efforts of twentieth-century American biologist and environmentalist Rachel Carson to expose the dangers of DDT and other pesticides in her controversial book "Silent Spring," and looks at the influence of her work on the formation of the Environmental Protection Agency and the banning several chemical agents.
