Latoya Williams is one of the only black students in her Montgomery, Alabama, high school, and she feels like her only friend is her older brother Alex. Desperate one night, she prays to be changed and become "anything but black." When somehow her wish comes true, Toya is now white, blonde, and popular, and Toya must figure out if it's really what she wanted.
