Illustrates the development of Western jewelry over the course of five hundred years through an examination of the Victoria and Albert Museum collection, describing the materials used by jewelers, looking at the development of jewelry styles since the Middle Ages, and discussing how jewelry has been hallmarked, distributed, and used.
