Chobits

Hideki finds a "persocom"--a personal computer shaped like an attractive, female android--seemingly discarded in an alley and takes it home, hoping to reactivate it. While he tries to teach "Chi" how to get along in the everyday world, he and his friends attempt to solve the mystery of her origins.
