Maddy Washburn moves to Buffalo Valley hoping to find the same love and contentment her friend Lindsay found in the small North Dakota town, and is immediately drawn to bison ranger Jeb McKenna, but Jeb rejects her overtures until they are thrown together for several days waiting out a storm.
