The Tale of Despereaux

Despereaux Tilling, a baby mouse with a romantic spirit who falls in love with Princess Pea, is banished by his own father to a rat-filled dungeon, where he meets Chiaroscuro--who loves the light and ends up in the queen's soup--as well as other characters, including Mig, a peasant girl who dreams of being a princess.
