While at a protest, Virgil Hawkins is sprayed with an experimental tear gas, and while some at the protest were maimed or killed, Virgil finds himself with the amazing new ability to channel and manipulate electromagnetic fields. But Virgil soon realizes he isn't the only one with powers. A new enemy named Hotstreak appears, and Virgil sets out to take him down.
