Ting and the deadly waters

After a summer of nine typhoons in 1931, the dams on the Yangtze River in China broke, completely flooding nearby towns and farms. Twelve-year-old Ting wakes up to a house full of water and her parents nowhere to be found. It's up to her to lead her younger brother and others to safety, battling high waters and greedy characters along the way. Will the children survive to be reunited with their parents?
