Karen is all ready for Christmas until her grandmother gets sick. Now Karen has a special wish for Christmas.

Karen loves solving mysteries so when her pet rat, Emily Junior, is missing she sets out to solve the case with her friends Nancy and Hannie.

Karen and her friends Hannie and Nancy cannot wait for summer vacation. They are going to sleep-away camp for a whole week! But Karen has already been to Camp Mohawk and thinks she knows everything there is to know about camping--until she spends a night sleeping in the woods.

Hannie and Nancy, Karen's best friends, make plans to play together without her, and Karen is really mad.

Karen's friend, Nancy, is going to be a big sister. At first Karen is jealous, but then Nancy promises to share the baby with her.
