Napoleon dispatches Gage and his three savant friends to chase down the rumor of the fabled mirror of Archimedes. Things turn sticky when Gage's old arch nemesis, the Egyptian Rite, a ruthless cabal out to rule the world, joins the race to grab the miror for their own evil designs.

To make Napoleon pay for kidnapping his son and nearly killing his wife, spy, adventurer and treasure hunter Ethan Gage, after his plot to sabotage Napoleon's coronation is foiled, flees to England where he and a group of brilliant renegades devise a daring plan as the French set sail for invasion.

Ethan Gage races to collect the Mirror of Archimendes, an ancient death ray, before the Barbary pirates or Aurora Somerset can claim it and searches for more information so that he can rescue his lost love, Astiza.
