Jules is an ordinary seven-year-old girl, concerned with school and friends and other ordinary things--until a chance meeting with a casting director leads to an audition for a television commercial.

Jules, excited and nervous about her part in a sitcom pilot, is also concerned about her class moving up ceremony and her touchy relationships with ex-best friend Charlotte and new best friend Elinor--it is almost too much drama for one seven-year-old New Yorker to handle.

Jules is starting third grade, but her new teacher seems a little strange, she has to choose and research a famous person for the class wax museum project, and rehearsals for the sitcom she is in are harder than ever--especially since the TV show is about to air.
