While staying at their grandmother's ranch, sisters Tori and Miranda are practicing to compete in different events at the local horse show--but Ashley, a rude and conceited girl who is stabling her pony at the ranch, is constantly criticizing everthing, their costumes, their ponies, Jewel and Buttercup, and generally draining the fun out of the summer.

Nine-year-old Tori is thrilled to be spending the summer at her grandmother's ranch, even if she has to share a room with her younger sister Miranda, who is eight--there is a beautiful, but very nervous, new pony called Jewel that she would love to ride, but her grandmother feels that this pony is just too much for a child.

Annoyed because his mother has been packing boring, healthy lunches, third-grader Zeke has not made either a card or a gift for Mother's Day--then at the last moment he has a change of heart and has to scramble to make both.

Third-grader Zeke's soccer experience is proving to be a disaster--all of his friends are on a different team, while his team is dominated by a bully who hogs the ball and knocks down anyone who gets in his way.

Thirteen-year-old Kaitlyn Perez is a very professional and well organized babysitter, but suddenly she finds herself in competition with a boy and the only thing she knows about him is that his nickname is Doc, he lets the kids he is babysitting run wild, and he is probably in her class--and that is only the beginning, as the stress causes her to quarrel with both her best friend, Piper, and her sister, Eve.

Zeke's third grade class is putting on a play and Zeke is unhappy and annoyed with what he sees as too small a role--until his mother teaches him the meaning of the saying "there are no small parts, only small actors.".

When his little sister's friends cannot go with her to the Princess Sing-Along concert, Zeke feels he has to go to cheer her up on her birthday--but on Monday morning he has to give a report in class about what he did on the weekend.

Zeke's school is having a fund-raiser and the student who sell the most cake mix will get four tickets to Thrillsville Amusement Park, but Zeke is not having much luck until his great-grandmother gives him a lesson in salesmanship--and he takes his little sister with him.
