Fifteen-year-old Ned Mariner, accompanying his photographer father on a shoot at the Saint-Sauveur Cathedral in Aix-en-Provence, meets American exchange student Kate Wenger, and together they becomes involved in a supernatural battle between a Celtic warrior and a Roman trader whose love for the same woman has not dimmed over centuries.
