Guy Brouard is one of the main benefactors of Guernsey, an isolated island in the English Channel, and his latest project, a museum in honor of those who resisted the German occupation of the island during World War II, has earned him many enemies, including one who wants him dead.

When Nicolette, the popular new girl at her all-girls high school on the tiny island of Guernsey, takes her under her wing, Cat, an overweight bookworm, enters a world of parties and shoplifting until a perceived betrayal tears them apart, resulting in a scandal that mirrors her uncle's hidden story of the island's Nazi occupation in WWII.
