Ellie's responsibility for her surrogate brother Gavin is threatened by both enemy forces and the government and she finds herself fighting both but on different fields of battle.

Ellie Linton, an Australian teen who engaged in guerilla warfare with invading forces after returning home from a camping trip with friends to find her family and the entire town imprisoned, tries to adjust to life on the farm following the end of hostilities, but finds the peace uneasy both across the border and within herself.

Ellie has struggled to put the war behind her and lead a normal life, but when the border clashes begin to escalate, putting Ellie and the young boy she cares for in danger, she must risk her life to save them.

Ellie Linton tries to lead a normal life after the war by coping with her parents' murders, running the farm, going to school, and taking care of a young boy.

Officially the war is over, but Ellie can not seem to escape it and resume a normal life especially after her parents are murdered and she becomes the ward of an unscrupulous lawyer who wants to acquire her family's property.
