Elfling Sebastian Darke, buffalope Max, and fierce fighter Cornelius are hired to find the legendary lost city of Mendip and provide proof it exists, and, while on the journey, they face warrior beasts and jungle tribes and meet the daughter of a tribal chief Keera, who falls in love with Sebastian and whose people mistake him for the Chosen One.

Accompanied by his sardonic buffalope Max, seventeen-year-old Sebastian Darke meets a spoiled princess and a diminutive soldier who aid in his quest to become court jester to the evil King Septimus.

Having concluded that he will never be a jester, half-elvish seventeen-year-old Sebastian sets out with his friends to seek buried pirate treasure but someone--or something--is following them.
