Sixteen-year-old Rapunzel, abandoned by her mother and raised by the sorceress Melisande, agrees to help free Melisande's daughter, Rue--whom Rapunzel did not know existed--from a wizard's curse, but bitter feelings rise between the girls and threaten to leave Rue cursed forever.
