Former trial lawyer Tate Collier, regrouping in Virginia after making some disastrous mistakes in the realms of love and the law, reunites with his ex-wife Bett in a desperate attempt to find their daughter who has been chosen by psychopathic psychologist Aaron Matthews as a target for the revenge he seeks against Tate who he believes ruined his life.
