Tells the life story of Tibetan nun Ani Pachan, discussing her idyllic childhood in Tibet, her role as a leader of the resistance after the Chinese invaded Tibet, her twenty-one-year imprisonment and torture by the Chinese, and the faith that sustained her until she was freed and finally realized her dream of meeting the Dalai Lama.

The author presents an account of her experiences as a child in Nazi-occupied France and later in the Bergen-Belsen death camp.
