Meridian is threatened by evil forces, at the same time that the witches' powers and friendships are both declining.

Darkness and despair have descended upon the people of Meridian; the Guardians join Elyon and the rebel forces to try and bring back the Light.

Elyon's friends help her bridge the gap between her old life and her royal future.
