Blythe McGuire lost her parents in a recent fire and struggles to keep her head above water as she trudges through her last year at Matthews College. A chance meeting with Chris Shepherd, a dark-haired guy who returns her interest, helped her cope but now Chris' own problems threaten to overwhelm them both.
