Sonic scatters the Chaos Emeralds to the far reaches of space to protect them from Dark Oak, then must battle the Metarex, a robot monster that wants to destroy the Earth.
Sonic and his friends attempt to track down a Chaos Emerald on the planet Breezy and find that it is being guarded by the indestructible Crystal Metarex.
