When the time comes for Negi and Asuna to declare their feelings for one another, they are interrupted by the arrival of Fate Fidius Averruncus, who may prove to be Asuna's real Prince Charming.

On the class trip to Kyoto and Nara, Negi must protect his student Konoka from being kidnapped by feuding magicians without letting her know that she is a target; and things get more complicated when he learns that his student Setsuna may be a spy for the kidnapping culprits.
