Crew members of the Voyager, separated from the ship and slowly starving to death in an alien prison camp, keep their spirits high by sharing the stories of how they came to the U.S.S. Voyager and the Delta Quadrant.

Voyager Captain Kathryn Janeway reviews the most important moments of her life while trying to decide how to deal with a Kazon attack which has placed her in the position of having to choose between the lives of the Away Team trapped on a wilderness planet and the safety of her ship.

The U.S.S. Voyager lands on Drenar Four for repairs and finds a world on the brink of extinction, but when the starship Televek arrives offering aid to the Voyager and the endangered planet, Captain Janeway, who has been haunted by ghostly visions of danger, is hesitant to accept.
