As they enter a land ruled by three monster kings, San Zang has a horrible premonition. Each of the kings has a great strength and a great weakness and resembles one of the disciples. If Wu Kong, Bajie, and Wu Jing do not heed this warning, the entire journey may be in jeopardy.

In a land buried in fog, San Zang is ensnared in a web of deceit by seven beautiful and savage fairies. Wu Kong, Bajie, and Wu Jing must learn to distinguish reality from illusion if they are to save their master.

Arriving in the JiSai kingdom, San Zang tries to persuade the frustrated king to forgive those he has falsely accused of theft, while Sun Wu Kong and Yu Long search beneath the sea for the kingdom's stolen treasure.

San Zang and his group arrive at Mount Flame, an impassable obstacle standing between them and their goal that they will need the help of a precious treasure to overcome. In order to get the treasure, however, Sun Wu Kong must answer for past choices and confront former allies.

When a second Sun Wu Kong shows up that embodies all of the Monkey King's worst qualities, nobody, not even the Goddess of Mercy, can tell the two apart.

When San Zang and his disciples pass through the Women's Kingdom, they find themself threatened not by monsters, but by forbidden desires.
