Thirteen-year-old Jenevieve is saved from the fate of summer camp after her mother dies, taken instead to her aunt Guin's unusual home on the beach, where she meets Connor, a boy her age, and helps him in his quest to find a storied old dance hall supposedly buried beneath the dunes.
