Michael "Misha" Gruenbaum's carefree childhood in Prague comes crashing to an end when the Nazis invade. The Gruenbaums are sent to the Jewish Ghetto in Prague, then Misha, his mother, and his sister are sent to the Terezin concentration camp. In this memoir, Misha relates what life was like in Terezin, how he formed brotherly bonds with the other Jewish boys, and how he is finally freed with the help of a carefully sewn Teddy bear.
