The Lost Voices trilogy

As a mermaid versus human war looms on the horizon, Luce falls in love with her sworn enemy Dorian and assumes her rightful role as queen of the mermaids.

When mankind resolves to wipe out all mermaids, Luce flees capture and encounters hundreds of refugee mermaids hiding in the San Francisco Bay. Taking upon the responsibility of leadership, Luce agrees to protect them against human attack but also searches for a way to end this conflict without causing the deaths of mermaids or humans.
