Dark, a young swordsman who has succeeded to the title of Phantom Saint of the Red Phoenix and is destined to rule one of the four countries surrounding Oukoku, must prove himself on a quest, guided by his spirit guide Kyo. He sets out for the forbidden Eastern Territory of the Four Winds where he faces Chao, the beautiful ex-lover of his late master.
