Mercy Thompson, a car mechanic in the tri-cities of eastern Washington, uses her shapeshifting abilities to help maintain the peace between humans and supernatural beings, but she must work overtime to protect her friends when she crosses the local Vampire Queen who, unable to get past the werewolf pack that protects Mercy, decides to target the shapeshifter's friends.
