CORK O'CONNOR

Cork O'Connor tries to accept that his wife Jo is dead after her plane goes down in a snowstorm over the Wyoming Rockies, but when two women show up months later with evidence that the pilot was not who he claimed to be, Cork starts a dangerous investigation that he hopes will lead him to Jo.

Ex-sheriff Cork O'Connor, on the run from contract killers, takes refuge in an old resort on the Upper Peninsula of Michigan owned by his cousin, a bitter widow with a teenage son, but he is unable to stay in hiding when the body of a young girl is found along the Copper River, a second teen vanishes, and all evidence leads to a shelter for homeless youth.

Former sheriff Cork O'Connor reluctantly agrees to lead a search party to look for Shiloh, a country-western singer who has disappeared into the Quetico-Superior Wilderness on the Canadian/American border, not realizing the young woman is also being hunted by hired men who want her dead.
