Guy Fletcher discovers that making a joke is no laughing matter when he attempts to trace a lame joke overheard at a local pub all the way back to its original source--a quest that takes him across the United Kingdom and into contact with a humorless Hungarian dentist, a troop of hyperactive boy scouts, an army of nuns, and other odd and sinister characters.
