Eight years after the apparent death of his explorer father in the Arctic wilderness, Sam still misses him. He befriends a wild Husky and names it Kayla, after his father's lead sled dog. Sam & Kayla enter a sled race, and through her actions, Kayla teaches Sam about love, loyalty and self-sacrifice.
