The Guru Guru Bone stops working, leaving Ponta is trapped in her dog form and unable to communicate with Mirai. To make things worse, a good-looking labrador has set his romantic sights on her. When the lab's cute owner starts hanging out with Mirai, where does that leave Ponta?.

Ponta discovers that there are obstacles in her path to winning Mirai's love. First, she meets Mirai's mother, who hates dogs and has a very different idea about the kind of girl her son should date. Then, she meets Mirai's ex, who became a Japanese pop idol and has come back to rekindle old flames.

Yaya's timidity leaves room for her high school contemporaries to call her names and make fun of her, but Yaya's alternate personality, Nana, exposes the "friends" for who they are and is quick to administer appropriate punishment.
