Hawk Jankin, leader of a band of outlaws, convinces Anna to marry him while her father is away fighting in the war, in order to regain possession of High Crag Linn, the castle that was once owned by his family, but once Hawk is there he must face his own conscience while he furthers his vengeance with acts of murder.
